
Illustrations from New Zealand
Katrin Kadelke, a “Fischkopf” (born in Güstrow in 1979), grew up among the “Löffelschnitzer” (Suhl) and “Puffbohnen” (Erfurt) and has been living among the “Kiwis” in New Zealand since 2010. There, on the Pacific coast, she works with her main medium, watercolour, and illustrates everything that needs a cheerful splash of colour. Since 2021, she has been travelling the world with her mobile drawing table, gathering new impressions in Slovenia, Indonesia, Italy, France and Spain.
Nach zahlreichen Ausstellungen u.a. in Erfurt, Weimar, Tiefthal, Graal-Müritz als auch in Neuseeland (u.a Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch ), veröffentlichte 2012 der Bertuch Verlag Weimar das Kinderbuch “Knalltüten” (Autor: Ulf Annel ). 2014 erschien das englischsprachige Kinderbuch “Little Bear Tries” (Autor: Nathan Miller ) in Neuseeland. Der Kinderbuchillustrator und Autor Helme Heime würdigte ihre wiedererkennbare Linie und humorvollen Arbeiten bei einem Treffen in Neuseeland im Jahre 2015. Im Juni 2017 erschien ihr 3. Buch “Rinderschwanzsuppe und Kindertanzgruppe” (Autor: Ulf Annel ) im Bertuch Verlag Weimar.
Following her illustrative work for the Erfurt Wichtelstollen and the new town mascot for Neustadt an der Orla, another book “Küstenwind küsst Wüstenkind“ (author: Ulf Annel ) was published by Rhino Verlag in June 2019. Published in 2020 and 2022, by Demmler publishing housethree more books: “Zwei Riesen im Sund“ – Sagen von der Insel Rügen (author: Ulrich Völkel ), “Von denn Fischer un siene Fru” and “The wrath of the god Swantewit” – Legends of Fischland-Darß-Zingst (author: Ulrich Völkel). In 2023, the 3rd volume in the saga series was published for Demmler Verlag “The downfall of Vineta” – Legends from the island of Usedom (Author: Ulrich Völkel)

Her graphic work can be found in editorial and corporate design, in commercial graphics for packaging, merchandise and print media as well as in online applications.
Katrin Kadelke designs most of her books herself, combining layout and typesetting with her illustrations.
